Spotlight on International Masterclasses on Social Media

International Masterclasses are "officially" over today with the Spanish-language videoconference this afternoon between institutions in South America and Fermilab. Before, during, and after, IMC maintains a twitter feed, @physicsIMC. Students and teachers at participating institutions tweet their experiences with #LHCIMC18 (until next year!) and these, too, are often retweeted on the feed. In addition, @physicsIMC stays busy with masterclass news, World Wide Data Day, particle physics, and "off-shell" masterclasses throughout the year. So . . . check it out from time to time, comment, and use the hashtag for your own masterclass and related experiences this summer and beyond.

Venice. Yes, @physicsIMC tweeted it!

News from QuarkNet Central

With summer quickly approaching, QuarkNet continues to gear up for a variety of summer activities. Please contact your mentor, Ken, and/or Shane if you have any questions or concerns.

Physics Experiment Roundup

Can we learn more about the Large Hadron Collider? Of course! Get the inside scoop on LHC from symmetry. And we have even more to learn about DUNE, again with the help of symmetry.

Resources

Just a bit more symmetry in the Flyer today, this time about long-lived particles and about a long-lived, famous Feynman diagram. Speaking of which, we just saw the centenary of the birth of Feynman, covered in Physics World. And we have a "special," "relatively" new Don Lincoln video

Just for Fun

What's better than a volcano? Maybe it's a volcano where you attempt cosmic ray measurements. What is better than that? Try a volcano with cosmic rays and a drone-mounted camera, courtesy of astrovlog
